For another year, the University Botanical Garden – Sofia organized the Pumpkin Festival.
Guests of the botanical garden had the opportunity to taste roasted pumpkin. A workshop for making pottery items with "botanical prints" was organized, in which both adults and children participated. Visitors had the chance to get acquainted with different varieties of pumpkins and seasonal flowers. Various types of this interesting fruit, arranged in beautiful displays, attracted the visitors’ attention.
We thank everyone for the pleasant emotions, good mood, and great interest.
The organization of cultural events is part of the social mission of botanical gardens, which is closely connected to their main task—to educate and create a link between the plant kingdom and humans. To engage city dwellers in getting to know nature and its richness, showcased in the great biodiversity that the gardens maintain, and through its beauty, to explain its importance for human life, as well as to draw attention to the environment so it can be preserved as it is.
